Brian. 22. SCAD Senior. Environment Artist for games. 'Never Not Working.'Here is the shader I’ll be rebuilding for my presentation. It’s not as complex as I wanted to show off, but because of time constraints, I have to settle with this. It shows how to use a mask for Vertex Painting and how to adjust it in engine, as well as using more than one modification for Vertex Painting. One channel will let me paint out a color variation, while another lets me paint out a reflective surface with a Cube Map. Sitting just under 90 instructions for the base pass and only 3 textures(1 is the Cube Map).
The meshes are just more examples of why you need more vertices for it to look good. The closest one is the 1.3k vertex count, then I just copy/pasted the color info to the 425 and 96 vertex count meshes. The last mesh is the plain concrete texture without any Vertex Painting, so boring!
